Dragon Ball Super is a Japanese televised animated series as a continuation of the Dragon Ball comic written by the creator Akira Toriyama and it is produced by Toei Animation. The series began airing on Fuji TV in Japan on July 5, 2015.

On June 24, 2016, Viz began translating the Dragon Ball Super comic.

On October 19, 2016, Toei Animation announced Dragon Ball Super anime will have a simulcast and will be on Crunchyroll in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand for both free users and subscription members. Daisuki will stream the series in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand for free users and members. AnimeLab will stream the series in Australia and New Zealand for free users and members.[1] On November 4, 2016, Toei Animation and Funimation announced their Dragon Ball Super licensing acquisition with Funimation attaining the rights to stream Dragon Ball Super on their streaming service, "FunimationNow", and will begin the dub.[2]
